The tree was so pretty and the fruit on it looked so nice that Eve wanted to eat it. But God said, "No."

Satan, who is God's enemy, told Eve to eat it even if God said not to. Eve took the fruit and ate some of it; then she gave some to Adam and he ate it too.

Because they disobeyed, God punished Adam and Eve and sent them out of the beautiful garden, never to return again.
